Grissom’s Fine Jewelry store has announced both that they’re extending their regular hours through Christmas (December 25th), and that they’re pushing to increase donations to the Toys for Tots charity.

Patrick Grissom, the owner of Grissom’s, shared this: “All week long we’ll be offering 25% off any in-stock jewelry item for anyone who brings in a new, unwrapped toy to donate to the Toys for Tots program, which is run by the US Marine Corps Reserve. Moreover, to increase the number of toys collected, Grissom’s will be be extending their hours, opening 7 days a week through Christmas.

According to the Toys for Tots website, “approximately 13 million American children live in poverty. Studies reveal that growing up in poverty can have an adverse psychological impact on a child. One of the adverse impacts is low self-esteem – a by-product of little or no hope for the future.” The organization seeks to ensure that each child who receives a toy for the holidays also receives a bit more than that. “The new toy which millions of needy children receive each Christmas from Marines, through the Toys for Tots program, delivers a message of hope. By being excellent role models and setting an example for others to emulate, Marines, through Toys for Tots, perform passive mentoring.”

“Grissom’s has been in the same location since we opened in 1967, and we have the best diamond prices around all of the Dallas / Fort Worth area,” stated Grissom.

More information about Grissom’s can be found at their website, which is currently being remodeled at: https://grissoms.com/

Grissom urges all local citizens to consider dropping of a donated toy at any of the Toys for Tots locations, including his own location. “These children deserve a bright Christmas and Holiday season, and such a simple gesture can do so much for a child in need.”
