Salt & Home Announces a New Approach to Timeless, Attainable Home Design Through Creator KC Myers

Sep 17, 2026

Salt & Home creator KC Myers shares how photography, family life and a home renovation journey shaped her approach to attainable, timeless design.

United States, September 17, 2026 -- Salt & Home, the home and lifestyle brand founded by Ohio based creator KC Myers, is highlighting a personal approach to home design shaped by photography, family life and an unexpected change in plans.

The story began when Myers and her family decided not to build their dream home on a property they loved. Instead, they chose to remain in their existing home and transform it into the space they had envisioned. That decision became central to Salt & Home and its message that a home can offer more possibilities than its owners may initially see.

For Myers, the change also reflected a broader personal journey. Her path to becoming a creator developed through several different chapters, including Division I soccer at Ohio State, work in her family business and a career in photography.

Recognized For Creative Excellence

Myers' work has also earned recognition for the distinctive way she brings together home design, photography, lifestyle, and personal storytelling. In 2026, Salt & Home was named the Best Home Decor and Lifestyle Creator in Ohio of 2026 by Best of Best Review, recognizing the brand's visual expertise, approachable design perspective, practical recommendations, and ability to turn everyday family life into meaningful creative content.

From Division I Soccer to Photography

Myers' professional background did not initially point toward becoming a home and lifestyle creator. She played Division I soccer at Ohio State before working in her family business.

Her interest in photography developed after receiving a camera as a gift. What began as a new skill eventually became a photography career focused on homes and interiors.

Photographing residential spaces gave Myers an opportunity to study the visual details that influence how a room feels, including natural light, composition, texture and proportion. Those skills later became part of how she approaches content for Salt & Home.

Rather than presenting home design only through finished images, Myers shares the decisions and projects taking place within her own family home.

Choosing to Transform the Home They Already Had

The decision to step away from building a new home became an important turning point for Myers and her family.

Instead of viewing their current house as something temporary, they began considering how its existing spaces could be changed to better reflect their lifestyle and preferences.

That process became part of the Salt & Home story. Myers documents renovations, styling decisions and the smaller details that help shape the character of a home.

The approach also includes decisions that may not be universally conventional. Projects such as the family's kitchen renovation, including a stone backsplash and library ladder, demonstrate how personal preferences can influence a space.

"I want someone to see a room I share and come away with an idea they can actually use in their own home," Myers said.

Photography Influences the Way Salt & Home Shares Design

Myers' photography experience continues to influence how she presents interiors and products through Salt & Home.

Years spent photographing homes taught her to recognize how individual elements work together within a larger space. Light, texture, proportion and composition all contribute to the way a room is perceived.

That perspective informs the brand's visual approach while the personal nature of the renovation provides context behind the images.

Salt & Home combines home renovations and timeless decor with affordable finds, casual fashion and practical ideas for everyday family life. The content is intended to show not only what a finished space looks like, but also how individual choices can be applied within a lived in home.

Creating a Home Around Real Family Life

As a wife and mother of two boys, Myers approaches home design through the practical realities of family life.

The spaces featured through Salt & Home are not staged solely as design examples. They are part of the family's everyday environment, which gives Myers the opportunity to consider how materials, furniture and decorative choices function over time.

Her style centers on creamy whites, natural wood, stone and layered textures, while incorporating both investment pieces and more accessible products.

Product sources and styling ideas are shared alongside the reasoning behind individual choices, giving followers a view of the process rather than simply the finished result.

Building a Creator Business From Different Experiences

Salt & Home grew from the combination of Myers' interests and professional experiences rather than from a single career path.

Her athletic background developed discipline and persistence. Her photography career developed an understanding of visual storytelling and interiors. Her experience as a mother informs how she considers functionality and everyday use.

Those experiences now come together through her work as a creator and business owner.

Myers has also earned recognition among LTK's top 1% of creators and has worked with a range of brands through her content.

The brand's growth reflects a broader approach to creator-led business in which personal experience, specialized skills and an established audience can intersect.

Encouraging Confidence in Personal Style

A central idea behind Salt & Home is that home design does not have to follow a single formula.

Myers shares spaces and products while encouraging followers to consider how those ideas could work within their own homes, budgets and lifestyles.

The combination of accessible finds and investment pieces allows the content to address different approaches to creating a comfortable and personal environment.

The emphasis remains on making thoughtful choices rather than following every design trend.

Salt & Home Continues Its Home Transformation Story

As the transformation of the Myers family's home continues, Salt & Home remains focused on documenting the process and sharing practical inspiration.

The brand provides a look at renovations, decor decisions, product sources and the everyday considerations that influence a family home.

For Myers, choosing to transform an existing property instead of building a new one ultimately became more than a change in plans. It became the foundation for a creator business built around the idea that meaningful design can begin with the home already in front of you.

Smarter Bathroom: Meet Moderno Home Depot’s MHD-4500 AI Smart Toilet

The modern bathroom is evolving beyond functionality, with smart technology bringing greater convenience, personalized comfort, and new possibilities for everyday living.  Joining this shift is Moderno Home Depot’s MHD-4500 AI Smart Toilet. Introduced as the Philippines’ first app-controlled smart toilet, the unit combines smartphone connectivity, hygiene-focused functions, and wellness-inspired features in a contemporary design.  At the heart of the MHD-4500 is its smartphone connectivity. Through the Moderno Smart Home app, available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, users can connect to the unit via Bluetooth and access its smart features directly from their phones. Voice control and a remote control system offer additional ways to operate the toilet, providing greater convenience and flexibility for everyday use.  “As the Philippines’ fastest-growing smart toilet brand, Moderno Home Depot believes that innovation should make everyday living more convenient and comfortable. The MHD-4500 reflects our commitment to bringing smart technology into practical home solutions, giving Filipino homeowners more opportunities to experience the benefits of a connected home,” said Rovie Sanchez, co-owner of Moderno Home Depot.  Beyond connectivity, the MHD-4500 places personal hygiene and comfort at the center of the bathroom experience. It features a self-cleaning nozzle, front and rear wash functions, bidet and hip wash options, adjustable nozzle positioning, and UV sterilization. These functions offer users more options for a personalized cleansing routine while incorporating additional hygiene features into an everyday essential.  Comfort takes center stage through its heated seat, adjustable water temperature, and adjustable drying system. Multiple massage modes, including strong-soft and moving massage functions, provide further customization. Built-in aromatherapy, dynamic lighting, and a soft night light add a wellness-inspired dimension, while automatic lid opening and closing and a slow-closing seat ring bring added convenience to daily routines.  These features are housed in a modern, elongated design crafted from premium ceramic. An LED display and integrated controls complement its contemporary appearance, allowing the unit to combine smart functionality with a clean, modern aesthetic.  Practical considerations are also part of its design. The MHD-4500 uses a siphon-jet flushing system with automatic and manual flushing options, as well as a foot-sensor flush function. A built-in water tank and booster pump support its flushing system, while leakage protection and power-outage flushing provide additional functionality.  For Jean Sanchez, co-owner of Moderno Home Depot, thoughtful home upgrades are about creating spaces that respond to people's everyday needs.  “Creating a comfortable home goes beyond choosing beautiful fixtures. It is also about finding solutions that make everyday routines easier and more personal. With the MHD-4500, we want to encourage homeowners to look at the bathroom in a new way and discover how technology can bring added comfort and convenience to their daily lives,” she said.  The product launch coincided with the opening of Moderno Home Depot’s newest showroom in Biñan City, Laguna, on Oct. 8, expanding the brand’s presence in South Luzon. The showroom offers homeowners, architects, and construction professionals another destination to explore modern bathroom fixtures and home solutions.  With the MHD-4500, Moderno Home Depot brings connected technology into a space where comfort, hygiene, and functionality intersect every day. It offers homeowners a new way to think about bathroom upgrades — not simply as a matter of aesthetics, but as an opportunity to make everyday living more convenient and personalized.

Bringing money lessons to young learners in Visayas, Mindanao

Bringing money lessons to young learners in Visayas, Mindanao

Young learners in schools across Visayas and Mindanao are getting additional resources for classroom learning and financial education through a partnership between Knowledge Channel Foundation Inc. (KCFI) and BPI Foundation (BPIF). Under BPIF’s FinEd Unboxed program, the foundations distributed educational materials and multimedia learning packages to recipient schools in Isabela City, Basilan; Zamboanga City; Guimaras; and Iloilo City throughout September. The school visits also featured the premiere of new episodes of “Estudyantipid,” an original educational series that introduces financial literacy to children through relatable situations and practical guidance. “At BPI, we believe that financial education is a powerful tool for empowerment. By helping young Filipinos develop practical money skills early, we can help build a generation that is more responsible, resilient, and prepared for the future,” said BPIF trustee Mary Catherine Elizabeth Santamaria. Each recipient school received a 55-inch smart TV equipped with a Knowledge Channel Portable Media Library containing more than 1,500 curriculum-aligned video lessons. The resources are designed to support daily classroom activities across grade levels through multimedia learning. KCFI vice president Edric Calma thanked BPIF for its continued support in bringing these resources to more Filipino learners. Calma described the turnover as an investment in learners’ futures, with curriculum-aligned video lessons developed to make learning more engaging, interactive, effective and relevant.

Dennis Trillo steps up as hubby, dad and peacemaker

Dennis Trillo steps up as hubby, dad and peacemaker

It was GMA Drama King Dennis Trillo himself who put an end to the drama sparked by Ogie Diaz’s vlog interview with Patrick Garcia, which stirred the proverbial hornet’s nest. Dennis was even the one who offered Patrick an olive branch. Let there be peace for the sake of everyone involved, most especially the kids. Dennis made the point that Patrick could have handled a long-forgotten issue privately instead of going public, even if he felt compelled to speak to protect his daughter from being pilloried on social media. Comedienne Candy Pangilinan echoed that sentiment, indirectly coming to the defense of her close friend Gelli de Belen. Gelli was being drawn into an issue she had nothing to do with. With the controversy dragging more people into the fray, it fell to Dennis to sweep up the mess, haul it into the bin and, hopefully, shut the lid for good. No more scattering the contents, please. His wife, Jennylyn Mercado, also deserves credit for her firm resolve to say no more. Let the men take center stage in this emotionally charged, true-to-life showdown as spectators wait with bated breath to see where it leads. The same goes for Jennylyn’s management company, Aguila Entertainment, which has chosen to keep its eagle-like talons in check. Jen’s manager Becky had already said plenty in her statement, delivering criticism sharp enough to leave Patrick reeling. For now, it’s “peace on earth” in this corner of showbiz — an early Christmas treat. What, then, might showbiz followers wish for next? Since Christmas is traditionally a season for children, we can only hope Patrick reaches out to his son Alex Jazz, spends time sharing stories with him and begins making up for lost time. In keeping with the season, Patrick could even play Santa Claus. No need for the full costume or the trademark beard, just a huge sack of goodies — although making up for years of absence will take more than whatever he puts inside it.
