ICMediaDirect – Emphasizes The Fundamental Importance of Internet Reviews

Apr 5, 2017

ICMediaDirect confirms that building up a solid reputation online is just as important for a company as focusing on its offline standing in the local community.

NEW YORK, NY - April 4, 2017 /MarketersMedia/ —

Research findings reveal that 9 out of 10 people read and respond to online reviews, as respondents surveyed by the research mission stated that they viewed the reviews on Internet as significant personal recommendations similar to those they would expect to hear from a friend. Leading PR firm ICMediaDirect recognizes the importance of reputation management and works with brands to capitalize on this data. The results of this study - formulated into an infographic by Invesp - show just how vital word of mouth is in the online sphere. The findings further state that customers will spend up to 31% more money on the services of businesses with “excellent” reviews, and 72% of responders will only make a purchase after seeing a positive review. While the statistics are applicable to all companies, they hone in on local businesses. A significant 92% of respondents state they would only use a company if it had, at least, a four-star rating on review sites. The stats are broken down further, with reliability (27%), expertise (21%), and professionalism (18%) being deemed the most vital characteristics for a local firm to be associated with. After analyzing this data and more, ICMediaDirect confirms that building up a solid reputation online is just as important for a company as focusing on its offline standing in the local community.

Positive reviews can, of course, boost business, but the analysis proves that negative feedback can have a direct fiscal drain on companies. For example, 86% of potential customers said they would think twice about buying a product from a firm with bad online reviews. What’s more, an extra star on reviews creates a 5% to 9% average rise in revenue for a business, while just one negative review could result in a company losing approximately 30 customers. Receiving positive reviews online translates directly into sales.

Michelin Guide returns for second PH restaurant selection

MANILA, Philippines — The Michelin Guide will return to the Philippines to unveil its second restaurant selection for Manila and Environs and Cebu, coinciding with the global gastronomy community’s celebration of the Michelin Star’s 100th anniversary. The Michelin Guide Restaurant Ceremony will be held on Oct. 29 at the Manila Marriott Hotel at Newport World Resorts. The 2027 edition builds on the inaugural Philippine selection, continuing the guide’s recognition of the country’s culinary heritage, hospitality and emerging generation of culinary talent. The ceremony will also highlight the distinctions awarded by the guide, including One, Two and Three Michelin Stars, Bib Gourmand and Michelin Selected. The Michelin Star recognizes culinary excellence, with restaurants receiving one, two or three stars based on the level of achievement. Bib Gourmand recognizes establishments offering good-quality cooking at good value, while Michelin  Selected establishments meet the guide’s standards and are considered worthy of a visit. The 2027 ceremony carries added significance as the Michelin Star marks its 100th anniversary. The star rating system was introduced in 1926 and has since become one of the guide’s distinctions for recognizing restaurants that deliver outstanding dining experiences. Each restaurant included in the selection is independently assessed by anonymous Michelin Guide inspectors using five universal criteria: the quality of the ingredients, mastery of cooking techniques, harmony of flavors, personality of the cuisine, and consistency both over time and across the menu. The inspectors’ assessments are applied across the guide’s destinations, providing a consistent basis for evaluating restaurants regardless of location or culinary style. The Oct. 29 ceremony will also feature a curated food and beverage experience prepared by a selection of local and international chefs recognized by the Michelin Guide. The event is invitation-only but will be accessible to a wider audience through a livestream on the Michelin Guide Asia YouTube channel.
