Los Angeles, CA - June 13, 2019 - Media Executive & Executive Producer Eric Weinberger has announced the formation of Eric Weinberger Productions and Media Consulting. Weinberger, whose vision for the last 20 years has defined live sports, news, and entertainment will continue to bring the best in production focusing on linear and digital entertainment companies that produce live events, monetize content, and identify new on-air talent to host content across all platforms. Eric Weinberger Productions is focused on helping companies scale and produce premium content.

Over the past 12 months, Eric Weinberger Productions has partnered with sports and entertainment companies to launch new activations. In December of 2018, Weinberger produced the live stream for Rolling Loud Los Angeles, one of the largest hip-hop festivals in the world, and executive produced Livezone, the pre and post festival show for LivexLive Media (NASDAQ: LIVX). Weinberger recruited music journalists and personalities to host the event and worked closely with national sponsors to monetize the event across multiple social networks. Livezone was produced and modeled after the various on-location sports shows Weinberger has produced over the years such as Thursday Night Football and the NFL Draft.

Said Weinberger: "I love working with new and legacy media companies as they find more ways to “eventize” productions and monetize their content. Premium content has never been more in demand and this is a great time for me to use my experience to assist storytellers and creators."

Weinberger was the Executive Producer at the NFL Network until 2015. While at the NFL he was instrumental in creating all live programming for the league-owned channel. He also helped grow events like the NFL Draft, NFL Combine and Super Bowl Week. Before NFL Network Weinberger served as Senior Producer for the Sports and Entertainment program Best Damn Sports Show Period at Fox Sports. Following his years at Fox Sports and the NFL, Weinberger then broadened his experience as President of the Bill Simmons Media Group and Executive Producer for programming on HBO including Any Given Wednesday and the long form documentary Andre The Giant. Weinberger currently is a member of the Board of such community organizations as Hav-A-Sole, a non-profit organization that provides footwear for the homeless, and The California Golden Bears youth hockey organization.

Union votes to strike at General Motors' US plants

Sep 15, 2019

DETROIT — The United Auto Workers union announced Sunday that its roughly 49,000 workers at General Motors plants in the U.S. would go on strike just before midnight because contentious talks on a new contract had broken down. About 200 plant-level union leaders voted unanimously in favor of a walkout during a meeting Sunday morning in Detroit. Union leaders said the sides were still far apart on several major issues and they apparently weren't swayed by a GM offer to make new products at or near two of the four plants it had been planning to close, according to someone...

Paris sees biggest transport strike in decade over pensions

Sep 15, 2019

PARIS — The biggest strike to hit Paris public transport since 2007 created major traffic jams Friday, disrupting tourists' plans and forcing commuters to work from home or find alternative ways to reach the office. French unions were protesting plans for sweeping pension changes by President Emmanuel Macron's government that aim to create a universal pension system, instead of having different pension rules for different jobs. Critics say that will do away with some transport workers' right to retire early. The fight against the pension changes now includes plans for pilots, nurses and lawyers to strike and protest Monday. Paris...

Vaping group plotted lobbying efforts at Trump's DC hotel

Sep 15, 2019

NEW YORK — America's vaping industry has in recent years taken its fight to fend off regulation directly to President Donald Trump's doorstep, with a lobbying group twice booking annual meetings at his Washington hotel and e-cigarette maker Juul hiring two of his former White House officials. In 2017 and 2018, the Vapor Technology Association met at Trump's hotel to strategize how to lobby the administration, with a Republican lawmaker at one conference advising it to emphasize jobs created by the growing industry and how regulation could devastate hundreds of small vaping businesses. An intensive, multimillion-dollar lobbying effort by the...

Proposal would buy bus tickets for Seattle-area homeless

Sep 15, 2019

SEATTLE — As the Seattle area tries to tackle its homelessness crisis, an official wants to spend $1 million to expand a strategy of buying bus tickets out of town for people living on the streets. The concept of sending homeless people back to where they say they're from or may have support has been in place for decades in parts of the U.S. struggling to get people off the streets. Big cities like San Francisco and New York and smaller communities like West Palm Beach, Florida, have such programs. The city of Seattle and community organizations already offer free...

San Francisco's iconic cable cars to shut down for repairs

Sep 15, 2019

SAN FRANCISCO — San Francisco's iconic cable cars will stop running for 10 days starting Friday while they undergo the final repairs in a three-year restoration project of the gearboxes that propel the world-famous system up the city's notoriously steep hills. Shuttle buses will run along the three cable car routes where historic cars typically travel at a steady 9.5 miles (15 kilometers) per hour, the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency said Wednesday. The agency says it needs to get the manually operated cable cars off the streets to rehabilitate the gearboxes that power the system that started in the...
