Dr. Maria Luong Announces the Addition of Solea Laser Treatments at Serenity Dentistry Spa

Florida dentist, Dr. Maria Luong, is announcing the incorporation of Solea Laser treatments into her dental practice. The treatments, which use carbon dioxide lasers to eradicate tooth decay, can prepare teeth for fillings virtually free of the needle and the sound of the drill.

LADY LAKE, FL - April 16, 2019 /MarketersMedia/ —

Dr. Maria Luong is bringing Solea laser treatments to The Villages. Created around the idea of a more serene dental experience, Dr. Luong’s Serenity Dentistry Spa will add the new treatment; which, eliminates pain and anesthesia from the cavity-filling process to its current services. Patients love the unique experience.

Developed by Convergent Dental and released in 2013, the Solea laser uses an isotopic carbon dioxide dental laser to remove tooth decay and prep for filling. Because the laser can remove tooth decay without causing nerve pain, it eliminates the need for anesthesia for the patient and creates a more comfortable experience for those that can’t tolerate pain. The Solea laser is also faster and more efficient than a traditional drill. Mike Cataldo, CEO of Convergent, compares the Solea laser to cutting a tree with a chainsaw instead of a traditional ax, as the laser fires up to 10,000 pulses per second.

The Solea laser is part of Dr. Luong and Serenity Dentistry Spa’s commitment to a more pleasant and quality dental experience. When imagining the idea of a dental spa, Dr. Luong decided that she needed to create an office where patients would not be so fearful. “It needed to feel warm, relaxing and inviting to patients. A place of calmness and tranquility, so Serenity Dentistry Spa was created,” said Dr. Luong. The location offers a spa-like atmosphere of comfort and care. She hopes the Solea laser treatment will continue to take the fear out of going to the dentist.

Notre Dame fire was a warning bell. But will Europe listen?

Apr 22, 2019

PARIS — It's a thin line where the patina of age on Europe's countless monuments gives way to the onset of neglect. Like with so many loved ones, all is assumed to be fine, until suddenly it's not. In the wake of the fire last week that gutted Notre Dame, a jewel of France, questions are being raised about the state of thousands of other cathedrals, palaces and village spires that have turned France — as well as Italy, Britain and Spain — into open air museums of Western civilization. If even an iconic building like Notre Dame could not...

Homeless shelter, looming IPOs have San Francisco on edge

Apr 22, 2019

SAN FRANCISCO — San Francisco's renowned waterfront hosts joggers, admiring tourists and towering condos with impressive views. It could also become the site of a new homeless shelter for up to 200 people. Angry residents have packed public meetings, jeering at city officials and even shouting down Mayor London Breed over the proposal. They say they were blindsided and argue billionaire Twitter executive Jack Dorsey and other tech executives who support the idea should lobby city officials to build a shelter by their homes. The waterfront uproar is among recent examples of strife in an expensive city that is both...

Waikiki flood concerns spur push for Hawaii shore protection

Apr 22, 2019

HONOLULU — Hawaii's iconic Waikiki Beach could soon be underwater as rising sea levels caused by climate change overtake its white sand beaches and bustling city streets. Predicting Honolulu will start experiencing frequent flooding within the next 15 to 20 years, state lawmakers are trying to pass legislation that would spend millions for a coastline protection program aimed at defending the city from regular tidal inundations. The highest tides of recent years have sent seawater flowing across Waikiki Beach and onto roads and sidewalks lining its main thoroughfare, and interactive maps of the Hawaiian Islands show that many parts of...

A look at the churches and hotels targeted in Sri Lanka

Apr 22, 2019

COLOMBO, Sri Lanka — Several near-simultaneous blasts tore through three churches and three luxury hotels in Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday, the bloodiest outbreak of violence in the South Asian country since civil war ended a decade ago. No one has claimed responsibility. Since the decades-long conflict between the majority Sinhalese and minority Tamils ended in 2009 a religious divide has taken hold. Buddhist nationalists accuse Muslims of attacking Buddhist shrines and trying to recruit Buddhist children, which Muslims deny. Here is a look at the sites targeted in the blasts. ___ CHURCHES St. Anthony's Shrine: This Roman Catholic church,...

German plane evacuates 15 injured in Madeira bus crash

Apr 22, 2019

FUNCHAL, Portugal — A German military plane on Saturday evacuated 15 German tourists who survived this week's bus crash on the island of Madeira that claimed 29 lives, Germany's Foreign Ministry said. The injured were put on a German air force plane and flown out of the Cristiano Ronaldo international airport on Madeira. They arrived later Saturday in Cologne, where the city said they were being admitted to a hospital. One German survivor remains in the hospital in Madeira's capital, Funchal, Portuguese health officials said. Another German injured in the crash was flown out on Friday. The bus plummeted down...
